20/11/07 - New website proves power of the internetBriman Joinery, one of the West Country’s leading and most successful bespoke joinery manufacturers, has recently launched a new website as it moves its marketing effort increasingly towards online activity. In the space of just 3 months the new site is producing around a third of all enquiries and nearly half the new business which is fuelling the company’s continuing growth made possible by the doubling in size of its factory two years ago.
Having relied heavily on specialist magazine and local press advertising for a number of years, the company took the strategic decision to make a major shift in its marketing approach by investing in a wholly new website built using current design techniques and focusing on search engine optimisation and rankings to increase the volume of traffic to its site. A previous site had failed to create the level of interest required so South West based multimedia agency Iconography were invited to design the new website to become a centrepiece of the company’s communication with its customers and suppliers.
Commenting on the launch, director Norman Hucker said, ”For many years we have been a traditional company making traditional products. Whilst our bespoke traditional joinery is undoubtedly our strength, as more builders and homeowners rediscover the environmental and aesthetic benefits of timber joinery, the way we communicated with our customers was undoubtedly a weakness.
By embracing the power of the internet more comprehensively and placing our website at the centre of our promotional activity we have come to recognise just how powerful a tool a good website can be and how many people now rely on visiting websites for advice, guidance and information before making purchasing decisions”. He added, “we haven’t abandoned press and magazine advertising but we have taken steps to be more selective and tactical in its use so as to get the right balance of interest and enquiries to suit our growth ambitions”.
